I dooonnnn't know if he'd know Near or Death Note, but when I see things like this I figure it's better safe than sorry since it did make a pretty big impact - or maybe I'm bias lol - and there is/was an American Version movie planned and the LABB movie was made by cupofsquirrel and the like.

I'm really, really, not sure about a lot of Hetalia things so I apologize if that's a nitpicky instance. I'm fine if he knows him, by the way, but if he knows him, he'd know to use 'Near' and not his real name just in case you're canon blind to Death Note.

Anyway, I hope this is alright to have filled out and if not I'm really sorry for wasting your time and do offer my most sincere apology ...But your char seems too neat not to tag lol. As for your other bit there, I've no problem with America tagging him at any time. I may not live there, but I still love the country xD.

8) no worries! although death note is pretty popular (and ah yes it's one of my favorite animes), i do not think america would recognize the characters from death note, but he is probably familiar with the name because he's good friends with japan.

so i wouldn't worry about it! america is more familiar with media from his culture, not from another-- even then, he doesn't fourth wall EVERYTHING..
but things like star wars, star trek, american comic book characters, etcetc-- he would probably recognize.

so no worries 8)
